Special appreciation goes to Dr. Abdollah Malekjafarian, who presented pioneering research from UCD’s Structural Dynamics & Assessment Laboratory (SDA-Lab), further demonstrating the strong collaboration within the UCD research community.

Commenting on the participation, Dr. Md Salauddin, Principal Investigator of the EHCR Lab, emphasized the importance of integrating nature-based and engineering-driven approaches to strengthen coastal resilience and support the renewable energy transition.

The Expo served as a valuable opportunity for UCD’s EHCR and SDA teams to engage with industry stakeholders, explore collaborative opportunities, and exchange insights on emerging technologies in wind and offshore energy.

The two-day event featured key addresses by Noel Cunniffe (CEO, Wind Energy Ireland), Timmy Dooley TD (Minister of State)  and Peter Burke TD (Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment), alongside engaging sessions on the evolving offshore wind supply chain, renewable energy skills, hybrid projects, and grid innovation.

Industry leaders from DEME Offshore, RWE Renewables, Statkraft, Bord na Móna, ESB, Orsted, and FuturEnergy Ireland joined policymakers and researchers to discuss the next decade of offshore wind development in Ireland and Europe.
